How it works
A site needs more than one icon: a small one for the browser tab, a larger one for phone home screens, and bigger ones again for install prompts. This produces the whole set from a single image.
What you get
PNG icons at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512 pixels, plus a favicon.ico built from the 32 pixel version, delivered as a ZIP. That covers browsers, Apple touch icons and web app manifests.
Start square
Non-square images are fitted inside a square and centred rather than stretched. A source that is already square, with some padding around the mark, gives the cleanest result.
Detail disappears fast
At 16 pixels there is room for a letter or a simple shape and nothing else. If your logo has fine detail or text, make a simplified version for the small sizes.
Favicon generator — questions
What sizes does it produce?
16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512 pixel PNGs, plus favicon.ico.
Does it need a square image?
No, but a square source gives the best result. Others are fitted and centred rather than stretched.
Is my logo uploaded?
No. Everything is generated in your browser.
