Remove EXIF data
Strip the hidden data in a photo, including where it was taken.
- Runs on your device — the file is never sent anywhere
- No sign-up, no watermarks, no daily quotas
- Free, with no limit on how often you use it
How it works
Every photo a phone takes carries hidden metadata: the camera, the exact timestamp, the settings, and very often the GPS coordinates of where you were standing. Share the file and you share all of it. Most people have no idea it is there.
What is actually in there
EXIF records the make and model of the device, the date and time to the second, exposure settings, and on most phones a latitude and longitude. A photo posted publicly can therefore reveal a home address.
How stripping works
The image is decoded to raw pixels and re-encoded from scratch. Metadata is not copied because there is nothing to copy it from — the new file is built only from what you can see.
What it costs
JPG output is re-encoded, which loses a very small amount of quality. PNG is lossless so nothing is lost. Orientation stored only in EXIF is applied before stripping, so the photo stays the right way up.
Remove EXIF data — questions
Does this remove GPS location?
Yes. Re-encoding drops all EXIF, including GPS coordinates.
Will the photo look different?
PNG output is pixel-identical. JPG is re-encoded at high quality, so any difference is imperceptible.
Is the photo uploaded to check it?
No. Everything happens in your browser; the photo never leaves your device.
