Online notepad
A blank page that remembers what you typed, on this device only.
- Runs in your browser — your text is never sent anywhere
- No sign-up, no quotas, free to use as often as you like
How it works
Sometimes you just need somewhere to put text: a phone number read out loud, a paragraph pulled out of an email, a list you are about to reorganise. A notepad in a browser tab is the fastest scratch space there is — as long as it does not lose what you wrote and does not send it anywhere.
It saves as you type
Your text is written to your browser's local storage a moment after you stop typing, so closing the tab or reloading the page does not lose it. Come back later on the same browser and it is still there.
What “on this device” really means
The note lives in this browser, on this computer, for this site. It does not sync to your phone, it is not visible in another browser, and a private window will not see it. Clearing site data removes it. There is no account and no copy anywhere else — which is the point, and also the limitation.
Not a backup
Because it exists in exactly one place, treat it as scratch space rather than storage. Anything you would be upset to lose should be copied somewhere real. The download button saves it as a text file.
Live counts
Words, characters and lines update as you type, which makes it useful for drafting something with a limit.
Online notepad — questions
Will my note still be here tomorrow?
Yes, on the same browser and device, as long as you have not cleared site data.
Is my note uploaded or synced?
No. It is stored in your own browser and never transmitted, which also means it does not appear on your other devices.
Will it work in a private window?
It will work, but private windows discard storage when closed, so the note will not survive.
How do I keep it permanently?
Use the download button to save it as a text file.
